Divisonal Meet **Revisions**
I have made a few revisions, they are marked in RED. Sorry for all the emails, hopefully I have it all covered now. See you tomorrow or at the Team Party!!
Tiger Sharks,
Congratulations on the season this far, we are 2-2. This weekend is our very last meet of the season. It is our Divisional Meet, where all 5 teams: Timer Lane, Foxwood, Wipeouts, Birnamwood/Fairfax and Lexington Woods, all "battle" against each other for the championship. Our swimmers have done a fantastic job so far with such little practice times. I can't wait to see how well we do on Saturday. As a quick reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, June 17th is our very last day of practice for the season for most of you.
Saturday, June 18th we will be at the Birnamwood Pool, where we were at our last away meet. Check in at CHECK IN @ TABLE NEAR OUR SET UP AREA @ 6:30 AM. Our team warm up starts at 7:30 AM in Lanes 1 and 2. Since this is a divisional meet we have some slightly different rules.
1. NO PARKING IN THE PARKING LOT - All parking must be in the streets. Please be mindful of where you are parking so that you are not blocking fire hydrants, too close to stop signs or blocking a drive way. Every year during the divisional meet, no matter where we are, there where cops and they did issue tickets and/or even towed cars. You will see some cars parked in the parking lot, those that are parked in the lot have to have a pass. There are NO handicap spots. From the sounds of it there will be a truck and trailer that will drive up and down Birnamwood Blvd to help you get to the pool area.
2, Timber Lane SET UP AREA is to the LEFT OF THE BABY POOL - if you were at the Birnamwood meet two weeks ago, you should have seen my Pink Canopy set up to the left of the baby pool, that is our set up area again. Each team has their own designated area. Attached you will find a map showing our area. It seems like it should be A LOT dryer than last time. You can come to the pool on Friday evening at 7:45 PM to set up your area.
3. There are Port-A-Potty and hand washing station set up to the left of the volleyball court.
4. Other than the usual concessions there will be Divisional Heat Sheets, Divisional Shirts, Raffle Tickets, Tiki Snow Cones and Body Art - Sports Clips.
5. The First Aid station is the Clubhouse across the parking lot, they will have cots set up just in case, and I believe they will have EMS out as well.
6. Since there are 5 teams worth of spectators, swimmers and official staff we ask that you please keep your visits around the pool brief. Come and watch your swimmer and then go back to your area so that others can watch their swimmers.
7. Don't' forget your basics, canopy, chairs, money or food/snacks and drinks and things to keep you occupied. You might want to also have sunscreen, bug spray and maybe a tarp or blanket to lay on the grass. No generators.
As with any meet we require VOLUNTEERS. The only difference in a divisional meet is that we require less since each team has to contribute. I have most of the positions filled up, I have given those who need to complete shifts first choice of spots. I emailed those who needed more shifts to meet their requirements and have heard back from them. If you did not get an email from me, then you are either ok or have not volunteered at all during the season. Below is the list of what I still need to complete our team requirements for the divisional meet. I do not have this posted anywhere, IF YOU WISH TO VOLUNTEER, THEN PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY, it will be on a first come first serve bases.
Shift 1: Events 1 thru 30
All Positions Filled
Shift 2: Events 31 thru 50
Ribbon/Runner
Shift 3: Events 51 thru 80
Kid Herder
Lane 4: Timer
Lane 5: Scribe
Ribbon/Runner
EXTRA: I could use an additional person to help sale HEAT SHEETS. Starts when you get there; ends when they are gone.
If I do not get responses from you wonderful people, I will come to you. You may contact me by Text or Email. Thank you in advance for all that you have all done to help this team. With out volunteers like you we would not be able to run these meets. On behalf of the team board members and our swimmers, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help and time.
Other IMPORTANT Information
We will have our team shirts on sale ONE LAST time TOMORROW during practice from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
IF your swimmer is going to swim at the Trinity Classic Invitational on June 25th and 26th, then you have one more week of practice, otherwise you are done for the season.
TRINITY ONLY PRACTICE TIMES:
11 and Up: 8:00 - 8:45 AM
10 and Under: 8:45 - 9:30 AM
We will not be having a Ribbon Ceremony this week we instead will hand out Ribbons during the End of Year Team Party on Monday, June 27th. I will send out an email with more information next week. I do need to mention that the party is for swimmers and direct family members ONLY. Each swimmer on the team and 2 adults. If you have other children in the family not on the team they are welcome, but we do not want aunts and uncles and cousins and other relatives attending. I would like a head count as to who is coming. I have put in an RSVP on the team calendar. PLEASE RSVP ON THE CALENDAR IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING AND HOW MANY, I will close the RSVP on Thursday, June 23rd. If for some reason you fail to RSVP in that time, I won't kick you out, you are still welcome, but you can maybe text me your name and how many are coming. REMEMBER THE PARTY IS FOR EVERY SWIMMER REGISTERED ON THE TEAM, whether you swam in a swim meet or not.
Please remember that you can contact me at any time by Text or Email for ANY questions or concerns, but just to warn you I might not respond after 6:30 AM on Saturday morning. I get busy getting everything going and I can't hear my phone or remember to check it as often. If you call me I will not answer numbers I don't know. If it is of high importance I suggest you call multiple times in a row and I know it is someone trying to get a hold of me for information not to collect bill money from me. :-) Again, I say thank you all for a dealing with this difficult season and hope to see you all again next year. Please either see the attached maps or find them under Links on the website.
Thank you,
