Ready Bench and Clean Up Crew

    Tigersharks,

We are in need of Ready Bench and Clean up Crew volunteers.  I've said this once and I will continue to say it, we cannot run the meet without you.  Literally, we will forfeit as a team without the proper number of volunteers required for us as a team to fulfill.  And we don't want to forfeit our last and most important meet.

I am in the process of putting together a list of those who are and are not getting their volunteer fee's back.  There are some that have not done their share of the Set-Up and Take Down.  If you know you are short one of those then we will allow that to slide if you fill in for one more position during divisionals.  I will hopefully have the list completed by the end of the day and will reach out to some of you personally tomorrow.  If you know that you haven't fulfilled your volunteer requirements then save me the time and sign up now.  We are down to the nitty-gritty part of the season where some of you don't get your $100 back and question why. We are giving you one last opportunity to complete your volunteer requirements.

Clean up Crew is needed at the very end or near end of the swim meet.  We want a few people to help pick up trash and walk/drive slowly up and down the streets and see if anyone left any trash out that should not have. We are tying our best to keep Inverness Forest Homeowners happy so they continue to allow us to use their facility. What better way to do that then to show how much we care that they are cleaned up and show no sign we were even there?

Ready Bench.  We still need 5 ready bench personnel. There will be 2 ready bench people from each team per session.  So during any given session there will be 12 ready bench people.  It won't be as hard as it sounds with that many.  Like I have described before some of you will have a job just standing at either end of the pool keeping the kids in their seats and moving them up when a swimmer swims their event.  Some of you will be running the kids to and from the ready bench, AKA a herder.  Some of you will be yelling out the events called and numbers and searching for lost kids.  There are plenty of things to do at ready bench that are not stressful or scary.

If we do not have enough volunteers I WILL BE COMING TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU AND FORCING SOMEONE TO DO IT and I have a full schedule for the entire meet to fulfill as a computer person.  Because of the lack of cooperation this season we will be raising the requirement standard next year.  We all have to work as a team to run a swim meet.  Remember why and who you are doing this for.  You are not doing it for me, or you, or even for your $100 back.  You are doing this for your child, your swimmer.  They have worked VERY hard over the last 3 months to get this far and they have done truly fantastic jobs doing so.

Thank you to ALL that have volunteered this season, no matter the role you played you are truly appreciated!  Lets get through the LAST and FINAL MEET then enjoy a pool party and some food on June 29th as a thank you.

    Thank you,

    Sabrina Michalsky
    Team Secretary
